Overcoming Tough Times

I apologize for the delay in writing to you. However, I want you to know that I have not forgotten about you, and I am still committed to keeping in touch.

This past year, I went through a difficult time and have found myself struggling to find joy in the things that used to bring me happiness. For a while, I put down my camera and spent a lot of time struggling with life’s challenges, remembering friends lost, and making new ones. I questioned whether to continue writing, teaching, and photographing.

With the help of friends and a photo opportunity, I found photography my way to cope with these difficulties. The experience to make a photograph expressing myself and sharing it with you opens my heart, rewarding my soul. Teaching and helping someone to become better, what a joy.

Returning to my love of photography has been a great way to cope with the changes in my life. It has given me a sense of purpose and allowed me to express myself in a way that feels meaningful. I’m excited to see where this journey will take me and what new opportunities it will bring.

Since leaving the Appalachian Trail (AT), I have been working to bring you more. I am excited about how I may help you. I am working on more opportunities to teach photography and share my work. I would love your feedback tell me what you would like to see. How can I help you? Leave a comment below.

I will be restarting My Photo Trek Journal, sharing my trek on the AT. It will have a new look; I hope you enjoy it. My website, normanschillawski.com, has a new look too, plus you will finally be able to own your favorite image.

P.S. Want more like this? I send these articles out to friends, photographers, and art lovers who want to improve their skills, and explore their creativity or simply enjoy my thoughts and stories and I would love to include you.

Tell me where to send it and I’ll send you a copy of Seven Moments an eBook, as well as articles, sneak peeks of my new work, and very occasional info about resources to help you with this creative craft we love.
